Bryce Mitchell and every Twister ever attempted in UFC history

The twister is a move that you rarely, rarely see in MMA. You control the guys leg, then control his arm and then control his head by squeezing the shit out of it. It is an incredibly hard move to hit, especially when your opponent knows what you’re doing. But don’t tell that to Arkansas’ own Bryce “Thugnasty Mitchell today at UFC 249. MMA reporter Brett Okamoto sums it up well with this tweet:

The twister is the white whale of MMA submissions and when you see it, you get excited. I scoured the internet to find out the truth about how many twisters have been hit in the UFC in honor of Bryce Mitchell. Here they are:

1. The legendary Korean Zombie hits it on Leonard Garcia (UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Davis)

2. Bryce Mitchell submits Matt Sayles (UFC DC, UFC on ESPN: Overeem vs. Rozenstruik)

3) Bryce Mitchell vs Charles Rosa (UFC 249 Quarantine)

I don’t have any footage for this yet and don’t want to have the UFC on my ass, so I wont be posting any. I will post a breakdown of the fight below though! But Bryce Mitchell has arrived, he put on a grappling clinic against Rosa and attempted the twister twice, albeit unsuccessfully. I’m looking forward to where Mitchell goes next and I will be watching closely.

Well folks that is it. Three fights have featured a twister attempt and two of them from Bryce Mitchell. Shoutout Eddie Bravo.
