Ben Simmons Makes Third Team All-NBA

The All-NBA teams were revealed earlier today, a mere 14 hours after the Nuggets decimated the Clippers in Game 7. Per Shams:

As you can see Ben Simmons is locked in as a Third Team All NBA Member, making it the first All NBA team he has made. This adds to a successful third season for Simmons which also included an All Star nod and a First Team All Defense nod. Although he deserved this honor, this came as a surprise to me as I thought voters wouldn’t be giving him the benefit of the doubt as he missed 11 games (pre-covid) due to injury. It also looked like he could’ve been out for the season had the season not been postponed. If Ben was snubbed it would’ve been somewhat justified but the voters are clearly in the Pro-Simmons camp.

Joel Embiid questionably was not named to any All-NBA teams in favor of Rudy Gobert, but at this point, who gives a shit? This season was a disaster for the Sixers and Embiid being named the MVP wouldn’t even change that. Embiid probably deserved it, but if you waste any amount of time getting frustrated over this decision then I urge you to find a hobby. And that is coming from a guy with no hobbies.

As for Simmons, despite having season ending knee surgery a short while ago, he posted this on his Myspace page earlier today:

Expect big things from the Fresh Prince when the NBA season resumes with fans in 2026!
