Facundo “Facu” Campazzo Scouting Report – The 5 ft 10 Magician for the Denver Nuggets

December 19, 2020December 19, 2020 votetheprocess 0 Comments Argentina, Defense, finishing at the rim, Jokic, Magician, passing, Real Madrid, scouting report

This is the scouting report on the emerging player on the Nuggets out of Argentina known as Facundo Campazzo. He is nicknamed “The Magician” and when you see him play it is easy to see why. If you haven’t seen it already, treat your self to his highlights.

He has played in Spain since 2014 for Real Madrid and UCAM Murcia CB (on a two year loan). He has won won the Euroleague two times and the Spanish League three times. His most notable teammate is Luke Doncic who described him as “a pain in the ass” to defend:

Pros:

-Solid Handles

-Passing ability

-Creativity – He can find the open man from anywhere even on a broken play where it looks like no teammate is open.

-Vision – despite being undersized at 5 ft 10 or 5 ft 11 (sources vary) he has some of the best vision in the world

Toughness – Is willing to give up his body to make the extra play. Also has tremendous on-court charisma.

Quick hands – He will get steals at the NBA Level

Cons:

Undersized – At 5 foot 10 (or 5 foot 11) he is undersized. According to Hoops Hype he would be the Youngest player in the NBA who didn’t go to college.

Argentinian guard Facundo Campazzo is indeed headed to Denver, HoopsHype has learned.

The Real Madrid star, who’s signing a two-year deal, will become the shortest NBA player ever with no college basketball experience.

Defense – Being undersized doesn’t help. He’s shown promising signs during the preseason, but it will be something to keep an eye on.

Inconsistent jumper – Has struggled throughout his career in Spain with consistently shooting the basketball at a high level – especially from beyond the arc.
